Warmly recommended for energy savers – vinyl HBI windows with FRP profile cores
Vinyl HBI windows with fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) high-tech profile cores feature excellent stability, maximum torsional rigidity and superior thermal insulation – all without thermally conductive steel.
Head start with Formula 1 technology
Vinyl HBI windows with FRP profile cores rely on the same advanced technology used to build aircraft and Formula 1 race cars. Made from high-tech fiber composite RAU-FIPRO®, the profile core imparts stability and rigidity all the way to the corners of HBI’s six-chambered vinyl windows without added steel reinforcement. In fact, 80 to 90% of all applications need no steel reinforcements at all. These HBI windows are not only lighter, but also avoid the thermal bridging problem that otherwise comes with steel reinforcements. Instead, this space can be filled with a perfect insulator: air.
Energy-efficient design
With their unique insulating properties, vinyl HBI windows with FRP profile cores are an ideal choice for low-energy houses and energy-conscious rehabilitations of older buildings. They reach Uf values of 1.0 W/m2K even without added insulation. That makes it easy to satisfy the requirements of energy conservation regulations (such as the German EnEV).
Affordable compliance with the Passive House standard
The insulation performance of vinyl HBI windows with FRP profile cores can be raised further to meet the Passive House standard – at a lower cost than ever before, and without changing the standard thickness of 86 mm. By installing optional thermal modules in the integrated chambers, the center seal system can reach values as low as Uf,BW = 0.8 W/m2K. That’s already within Passive House limits. And if the window also contains high-quality triple glazing with a Ug value of 0.5 W/m2K, the entire window can reach a best-in-class Uw value of 0.73 W/m2K!
More daylight, solar energy and a brighter mood
The narrow frames do more than just look elegant. They also increase the window’s glass-to-frame ratio, capturing more solar energy for significant solar energy gains. No wonder vinyl HBI windows with FRP profile cores are so warmly recommended.
